ACCESS-IT Vision

AT and ICT for people with disabilities is a highly challenging area of development today.

Why you may ask? Well, in the EU today, over 37 Million people are registered disabled, with only 38% ever having earned an income (compared to 68% of able bodied people). Over 97% of the current EU population believes that greater resources should be given to providing the right level of support to integrate people with disabilities into the workplace.

The question must be asked "what is being done to provide the opportunity to people with disabilities to live a life with quality?"

ACCESS-IT will help provide this integration by showcasing new technologies, software, hardware, tools and/or training facilities.

The people working for ACCESS-IT share the vision that all people, no matter what their disability may be deserve the right to have a job, career, hobby and also social activities. What the main barrier people with disabilities face is not the availability to such areas, it is the lack of knowledge that HR departments may have. Therefore ACCESS-IT wants to raise this gap in our current society and really have an impact on the lives of people with disabilities.

ACCESS-IT - The Brand, the Future

ACCESS-IT is now launched and is transcending each day. Previously there was no cohesive initiative that celebrates and also demonstrates AT and ICT under one generic name, however ACCESS-IT has changed this and aims to draw together scientific, academic, technical and commercial developments to satisfy the daily needs of people with disabilities and elderly and advance the quality of their lives.
